South Tyneside Young Carers Project has been delivering support to young carers and their families for 15 years.  Our aim is to improve the quality of life of young carers and reduce their risk of isolation.

We passionately believe every young carer should be able to enjoy their childhood and have a supportive environment in which to retreat from the pressures they often face.

Our team of experienced and caring staff work closely with local partners and schools to support young carers. We provide a range of services including one to one support, family support and emotional support. We also provide recreational and respite activities including residential short breaks, after school clubs and school holiday activities. These services provide support that is otherwise unavailable, contributing significantly to the health and wellbeing of those we support.

South Tyneside Young Carers Project forms part of TEN North East Ltd, a division of local charity Groundwork South and North Tyneside.
