TEN North East, formerly known as South Tyneside TEN have worked in the heart of communities especially in South Tyneside for over 25 years. TEN was established in 1994 to address the unemployment levels in South Tyneside impacted by the decline in the shipbuilding and coal mining industries. The service is still as relevant and vital today as it was then.
TEN has an excellent track record spanning 25 years of managing and delivering employment and training services in South Tyneside and supporting clients who are long term unemployed. In November 2016 the Young Carers Service in South Tyneside joined TEN.
We have over twenty years’ experience of delivering bespoke employment, training and young people focused projects that use the aspirations and resilience as a catalyst for building a more prosperous and sustainable future. TEN helps people through partner working to make positive contribution and changes to individuals and families to enhance resilience, develop confidence, build skills and job prospects.
We work towards a vision – ‘Your Future, our Business’; Raising Aspirations and creating Better Prospects leading to Individuals who are resilient, confident, ambitious and independent
Over the last 4 years, we have grown our portfolio of activities including support for young carers, this has allowed the organisation to attract wider funding to support our vision and passion for providing young people with the best start to life.
To provide long-term sustainability to TEN North East, the charitable Company became wholly owned by Groundwork South & North Tyneside.
